On Saturday the 11th November we had the pleasure of inviting over Shane Curtis aka Gothlord from Nottingham MMA to Strategy Fight Team Oldham for a seminar. Shane is currently one of the best no-gi grapplers in the UK who has multiple wins on both Polaris and GrappleFest and is known for his unorthodox style of submission hunting.
Shane has a very offensive style and will look to attack from all positions which is what makes him dangerous. Whether that’s from the front headlock even when the opponents have passed or from reverse Z guard when he baits his opponents to pass and catches them off guard with a sweep or hard-to-stop submission.
In the seminar Shane went through reverse Z guard, guillotines, the GothLock and loads of little details that will add so much to these positions, we had some great rounds too. Thanks to everyone that came to support, hope you had a great day.
